Evenings at Germaine's Luau

Tuesday, 10 March 2015

If you haven't noticed already, I love cultural experiences. No matter what country I am visiting, I like to take part in some kind of cultural activity. In Hawaii the best cultural experience to take part in is a luau. A luau is a traditional Hawaiian party or feast, that usually includes entertainment. There are many many different luau's in Hawaii, but on the recommendations of some locals, we chose to visit Germaine's Luau, on the the island of Oahu. It was a good choice!

Germaine's Luau offers a Hawaiian shell lei greeting, an Imu Ceremony, all you can eat Oahu buffet and spectacular luau performances, including the Samoam Fire-Knife dance and Slap dance, on the beautiful secluded beach of Kalaeloa, Oahu. It was a really beautiful night. The whole atmosphere of the luau was just incredible. It was like everyone was one big family, celebrating together. The long wooden tables and benches really gave it a community feel, and everyone was so lovely. And with such a beautiful location, right by the ocean, you really can't beat it! With the whole night set outside, under the sun setting and the beautiful Hawaiian stars, it was a truly magical night.

If you're spending some time in Oahu I would definitely recommend Germaine's Luau. Tours include transfers to from Germaine's Luau to your hotel, so convenient! For more information about Germaine's, you can check out their website here
