Santorini Secrets: Bay Of Ammoudi

One of my favourite secret spots in Greece was the bluest water of the Bay of Ammoudi. I apologize for the long time between posts, things have been absolutely crazy for me between my regular job, wedding planning and organizing our honeymoon, and before you know it the days are flying past and it's been a whole month since a blog post (honestly didn't think it had been that long)! Things are only going to get crazier in the next few months leading up to Christmas and the wedding in February but I am going to make an effort to be much more regular, especially because I still have so much of Europe to share!

Greece is one of those places where it's easy to find somewhere secluded and private to make you feel like you're the only ones there! Bay of Ammoudi was one of these places for us. If you're staying in Oia you can take the steep stairs down to the bay, or try your luck at riding a donkey down to the waters edge. Remember though, they are very temperamental and definitely have a bit of attitude so be careful! If you're not coming from Oia, like us, you can just follow the signs along the side of the road until you hit it. There's an incredibly steep decline in the road on you're way down, but just keep following it around. We rode our quad bike down to the bottom of the road and these were our views at the end of it all. Amazing.

There are a few restaurants sitting along the edge of the water, but the real draw is that beautiful crystal clear water. With hardly anyone making the trek down to Ammoudi it's likely that you will be have the water almost completely to yourself, with only two other people swimming there when we arrived! Standing at the bottom of the road, looking up at the steep red cliff side and the town with all of the tiny white houses and cafes scattered inbetween the tough rock formations really made us fall in love with Greece and Santorini. Try it for yourself if you don't believe me!
