I have never been as speechless walking into a restaurant as when I walked into No 35 at the Sofitel on Collins in Melbourne’s CBD. Coming off a morning of hot air ballooning across the city, I didn’t think the views or the morning could get any better. I was wrong. I have to say, without a doubt, No 35 is my favourite breakfast location ever. There was not one thing I could criticize about it and I haven’t stopped talking about it since. Let’s break it down.
Firstly there’s the views. No 35 offers wide views of the city, with half of the walls being full length windows. From our table we could see the Eureka Skydeck, Flinders Street Station, Federation Square, Southbank, Melbourne Arts Centre and the Yarra River. Sitting 35 floors up offers you the perfect view of the city.

The food was outstanding. I am not much of a foodie and to be honest I am normally happier with my regular choices and I get nervous trying new things. Here though, I wanted to try everything. It was a full buffet breakfast offering every choice you could think of. There was fresh fruit, cold meat, cereal and pastry options, as well as a personal chef to make any time of hot food you desired. My personal recommendation was the Eggs Benedict. It was to die for.
And finally there were the bathrooms. I never thought going to the bathroom could be so beautiful. The views speak for themselves! Flawless!! No 35. is open from 6:30-10:30am every morning for breakfast, with the full buffet breakfast costing $43 per person. It is absolutely worth it and the perfect location for celebrating something special! I has such a great morning for my birthday, it was honestly one of my favourite birthdays. Last image found here.
