I want to see the world.
I’m sure I share this dream with a lot of people – probably the majority of people my age. I’m not sure where it started, or why I’m so interested, but for a long time now I have wanted to just explore anywhere and everywhere!
Over the past 12 months I have done a bit of travelling, so I decided to start this blog. Not only to document my travels and keep a journal, but also to share my tips and tricks about planning a holiday. A lot of people get sucked into relying on information from their travel agent for every aspect of their trip, and in doing so end up paying a lot more for their holiday then if they research themselves! There are lots of different ways to travel and stick to your budget, no matter where you’re going.. you just have to put in a little more time when you’re planning. But it’s so worth it!
So to get us started, here are three random facts about me…
I’m a terrible ‘relaxer’. If I am travelling there is no way you’ll find me lying in the sun by a resort pool for more than 10 minutes. I can’t do it. There is too much to do, and too much to see, and sometimes I feel like if I even stop for a minute I will miss something. I know it sounds crazy, but that’s the way I like to do things – all adventure every day. There’s always something new to explore, no matter how long you are in a place for. I wake up super early and excited every day I am away and can’t wait to get out!
I have a crazy little Maltese poodle named Sophie. She is super cute and always likes to be wherever you are! The funniest thing about Sophie is that she loves an airport pick up! It’s almost like she knows the day someone in my family is coming home. She is ready to go all day, and stays right next to you to make sure she doesn’t get left at home. Whenever someone in my family is coming home from an international trip we take her along to the airport to wait for them. She gets so excited. We pop her up on the rail outside the international arrivals doors, and every time they open she gets more excited. She amuses everyone else waiting for their family and friends too!
I am completely addicted to Lonely Planet books. I have a massive collection of Lonely Planet city and country guides. As soon as I pay for flights somewhere I am buying a new Lonely Planet guide! They are a great source of information and know all about some beautiful interesting places that I’m sure I would never find on my own. They cover everything from accommodation, food and activity ideas, to complete planners depending on the length of your stay and what you’re interested in! I can’t recommend them enough, they’re amazing!
Hopefully you find travel inspiration in my posts. First up will be my recent trip to South Africa and Zimbabwe! Feel free to e-mail me any time at email@example.com.
