La Tortuga Hotel And Spa Review

For our four days in Playa del Carmen we stayed at La Tortuga Hotel and Spa, located on 10th Avenue between 12th and 14th Street North. Hotel la Tortuga is one of the few intimate boutique style hotels in Playa del Carmen. The adults only resort is small and intimate and absolutely perfect for romance and relaxation. Although to be honest, there was not much relaxing going on with so many exciting things to see around the Riviera Maya. The hotel is completely secluded and feels like a beautifully private tropical paradise, with a pool winding around the centre of the resorts.

Located just one block from the main street, Hotel la Tortuga was in the perfect location. The main street, Avendia 5, was within an incredibly short walking distance of so many bars and restaurants, shops and the beach. The staff were so beautiful and helpful. They were friendly and accommodating and able to help us with anything we needed. Due to the slight language barrier they were so great at helping us book tours and activities and were even able to arrange transfers for us. They had great recommendations for restaurants and dining options, and were always ready with maps and helpful information. I can’t speak highly enough about them, they really went above and beyond.

There are only 51 rooms at this intimate resort, so if you’re travelling to Playa del Carmen I would book in advance. The hotel also had a late night pool which was fantastic to combat the Mexican heat! As always, I recommend using Hotels Combined to find the best possible rate for your stay. Prices start from $77.35 per night for two people. We had breakfast included in our rate which was so good, nothing like waking up to a beautiful breakfast before a busy day of sightseeing and exploring. You can check out their website here.
