The Sydney Series: The Grounds Of Alexandria

For one of the most unique and popular dining options in Sydney you need to check out The Grounds of Alexandria. It isn’t just a quirky cafe, it is truly an experience. With The Cafe indoors, the outdoor ‘Potting Shed’, a petting zoo, florist, organic gardens, and specialty cheese and meats stores, The Grounds are a destination to be experienced during your time in Sydney.

The weekends are the best (but also the busiest) time to visit The Grounds, when you can find antique looking food carts around the gardens offering everything from cold drinks and ice creams to nutella donuts and toffee apples. The Grounds are absolutely bustling on the weekends, with families bringing their kids down to the petting zoos and foodie bloggers coming to experience the outstanding brunch options. It’s also a great place to spot some Australian and even international celebrities! If you’re hungry I would recommend putting your name down for breakfast as soon as you get there as there is often a small wait and then using your waiting time to explore the grounds.

The first time I visited The Grounds I was there on a week day, which was slightly disappointing as there were no food carts around and many parts of The Grounds were closed. So on a recent quick trip to Sydney on a Saturday I made this my first stop straight out of the airport and it was so different! Choose a sunny day to visit and explore the grounds and follow the yellow balloons to check out their market place as well! For more information check out their website to learn all about The Grounds and what’s going on there.
